Spain - 14/06/07 SGS Spain joins the European Commission TRACEBACK programme as a key expert The TRACEBACK programme which started in January 2007 targets to establish a food traceability system with:
The new traceability system will integrate EU and non-EU emerging technologies from on-going projects into a single framework. The pilots will be implemented in two dominant agro-food sector, feed / dairy and tomato. The role of SGS in this programme is to identify certification areas and current possibilities for certification services and to elaborate certification procedures within the traceability system. The programme is divided into a number of different work packages covering different aspects of traceability. The programme partners range from research institutes and universities, computer and consultancy firms to representatives from the food industry. The programme will last 48 months.
