INTERNATIONAL FOOD STANDARD (IFS)

The International Food Standard (IFS) builds on ISO 9001, and implements additional legislative requirements, the principles of good practice, the HACCP risk analysis and refers as well to EU-legislation concerning the handling of allergens and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Objectives of the IFS standard include

  • Creation of an unique evaluation for all brand manufactures and distributors;
  • Compatibility of audits due to consistent Contents and Handling; and
  • Compatibility of audit results within the supply chain.
